Surefire Masterfire Holster with x300 Weaponlight – Review
The Surefire booth at SHOT 2017 had enough space to play a full team vs team street hockey game. And yet, surrounded by bullet proof lights, milspec silencers and well, more lights, it was strange that the one product that really caught my attention was a holster. For one, the Masterfire holster system is unique in that it engages the weapon light rather than the gun itself. Two, its open front design allows for the carrying of pistols with muzzle devices and suppressors. And to top it off, the Surefire Masterfire holster can be configured so that the weapon light switches on when the pistol is drawn.
Surefire Continues to Bolster their Flashlight Line-Up with NEW R1 Lawman
Once you develop a photon addiction or begin attending FLA meetings (Flashlight Lovers Anonymous), there really is no turning back. Surefire continues to pump out good quality, but admittedly high-priced light beams to tempt the wallets of those consumers. Their latest installment is the new R1 Lawman with Intellibeam.
Let There be Light! Surefire Announces New Scout Weapon Lights
Surefire, not content to let the cheap imitation knock-offs gobble up the tacticool market has announced a slew of new Scout weapon lights. The new Scouts focus on offering a variety of weapon-ready configurations, combining various weapon mounts, body lengths, and tape switches so that customers no longer have to purchase the various parts a-la-carte.
Steiner MK7 Remington 870 Battlelight
Here’s another one for the “new to me” category. Steiner Optics has an illumination product specific to the shotgun platform. While researching weapon lights for a fun project, I stumbled across the MK7 Battlelight, a magazine tube endcap replacement that provides 350 lumens of forward throw light. The complete unit only adds four inches of overall length,
POTD: CZ Scorpion In Afghanistan
Silah Report posted a photo of an Afghan Commando with a CZ Scorpion. It has been painted but the spare magazines are not. You can see the old PEQ2 on the top rail. The light on the right side of the gun, looks to be a Surefire M962 three cell light. There appears to be another light on the other side but you cannot see it very well and the camo paint doesnt help.
New Nightstick Tactical Dual-Light Flashlight
Bayco Products announced the addition of the NSR-9854XL to its line of flashlights. Also called the Tactical Dual-Light Flashlight, this handheld torch is rechargeable and offers two different illumination methods.
LiNQ your AK Platform Rifles Now from Crimson Trace
The one-of-a-kind LiNQ flashlight/laser system from Crimson Trace is now available for your AK-47 or similar firearms. This new offering will fit any stamped receiver AK-47, but no milled receivers. It also will interestingly enough fit the Springfield Armory M1A Socom 16 CQB. You will also need a section of Picatinny rail (at least 2 3/4″ in length) to accommodate the flashlight/laser unit near the front of the rifle.

POTD: Dutch SWAT GQ – Looking Good And Kicking Butt
Found this gem on Gearwhores Anonymous. It is a photo of some Dutch Swat and DSI officers. The guy in the middle looks like he was in the middle of a GQ magazine photoshoot when feces hit the fan. While the other two guys are dressed to the nines. Not sure why they need Pvs-31 NODs in day time but sure why not, rock ’em if you got ’em. The officer on the right is sporting an SBR rocking a Rheinmetall LLM01 weapon light/laser. He has a Glock and a shotgun. He’s ready for 3 gun lol. The other DSI officer has his Glock on his chest because the MP7 on his thigh holster. Meanwhile he is cradling his H&K G28 suppressed rifle.
Steiner DBAL-RL And SBAL-RL V2 Light/Laser Combos
I have been eyeing the the light and laser combos from Steiner for the better part of a year but have yet to pull the trigger. Sadly, my night vision fund is much too deficient to take advantage of a visible light/laser and IR illuminator/laser device. The newest models, the SBAL-RL and DBAL-RL add the ability to attach a two button remote pressure switch for long gun applications.
Surefire Sheds some Light on their NEW Flashlights
Surefire has been slowly releasing more new products even after the excitement of SHOT Show has settled. This includes 3 new flashlights with their MaxVision beam and high output LED. All 3 new models sell anywhere from roughly $120 – $300. While these may not be entirely affordable for the general consumer, this is the price-point you would expect to see Surefire lights running at.

POTD: Tanned SureFire Goodness
My buddy Andrew Ha aka @FiftyshadesofFDE posted a pic of his Surefire addiction. There are some rather rare unicorns in this photo. The bronzed Milspec Kroma is extremely rare that I have never seen one before. The Tan Vampire Mini Scoutlight is also rather rare as well. As a fan of Surefire weaponlights I applaud Andrew’s collection. I am just a bit green with envy since his grass is tanner than mine.
LWRC IC-A5s Now in Use by Swedish LE
In what appears to be LWRC cornering the Swedish special operations and SWAT issue rifle market, we have yet more evidence of LWRC’s piston operated IC-A5 rifles in usage by the Särskilda operationsgruppen (SOG, Military SOF), the Förstärkt Regional Insatsstyrka (Reinforced Regional Task Force), and though unconfirmed the Nationella insatsstyrkan (National Task Force). Earlier on TFB, we covered the use of LWRC rifles by SOG, a component of the military, in addition to H&K MP7s.
Lightning Review: Crye Precision Gun Clip Modification – Holster For Suppressed Glock With Weapon Light
I picked up a Crye Precision Gun Clip many years ago. To be honest I have not used it that much although I liked the concept.
Review: Glock 17 – Osprey 45 Or Weapon Light But Not Both
I recently picked up my Osprey45 on Pi Day, 3/14/17. Strangely enough it is the same day I picked up my SpectreII suppressor from the same FFL back on 3/14/15.
POTD: Ultimate USFA Zip

NEW Lucid C3 Weapon Light
Weapon lights have evolved in the past 10-15 years and obviously LEDs have been a big part of the transformation. Battery life, ruggedness, size and light output are at the top of the list for advantages over their incandescent kin. LUCID Optics has just joined the illumination game with the C3: a dual LED weapon light that pushes out 300 lumens.

4Sevens' New WS1 Pistol Light | SHOT 2017
4Sevens is starting to get into the weapon light market. They have been quietly making some great handheld lights for over the past 10 years. Their Quark series is rather popular as it is modular so you can choose different heads for different modes of light as well as different body lengths for your choice of batteries. I remember a few years ago when David unveiled his massive XM18 work light. It is discontinued now but it has 18 Cree XM-L leds and is powered by 28x RCR18650! It puts out 15,000 lumens for a solid hour or you can dim it down to 600 lumens to run for 24 hours.

Streamlight also expanded the TLR 6 line with new options as well as a very exciting 1911 model that is designed to work with just about any non railed 1911.
