Busting the WORST AK-47 Myths! (Featuring InRange TV and Mishaco)
In this episode of TFBTV, James discusses (and busts) four of the most popular AK-47 myths with the help of Mishaco and Karl from InRange TV. Is the AK as 10+ MOA inaccurate as people say? Is it as reliable as legend tells us? Are they cheap to make? And what’s the deal with shooting the AK’s short sight radius versus the M4 or AR15? James addresses the myths surrounding these popular guns on today’s TFBTV program.

DOD's Plan to Arming Syrian and Iraqi Forces Outlined in FY 2019 Budget Proposal
The Fiscal Year 2019 Department of Defense Budget Proposal has been submitted to Congress and will take some time before we find out if it is approved or denied. But within it there is a specific budget document titled “Counter-Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) Train and Equip Fund (CTEF)”. This proposal covers the Pentagon’s plans to purchase equipment and arms that will be provided to forces that the United States (i.e- SOCOM) supports in Syria and Iraqi government security forces. At the low end of the supply chain are items such as magazine pouches and canteens, while at the high end are HUMVEEs and bulldozers. We are going to narrow down our focus to the small arms segment for TFB’s interests. A key element to keep in mind here is that this proposal hasn’t been approved yet and thus we are simply looking at what the Pentagon wants, instead of what they are going to get in terms of funding for all this equipment. The final result could be less, or it could even be more depending on the politics that go into the decision making process.
TFBTV Video: "Assault Rifle" vs. Backpack?
Will a lowly backpack full of books beat an “assault rifle” loaded with military-grade ammo? James uses a variety of different ammunition including military-grade M882 9mm ball ammo, M193 .223 ammo, M855 steel penetrator core ammo, and steel AK47 ammunition from Wolf.

Improvised Rifle-Mounted 23mm Autocannon Projectile Launcher
A YouTube channel called WarDoc has published a video where they show a rifle grenade launcher made in self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic. This device is basically a tube attached to the muzzle of an AK-74 rifle. Instead of purpose made rifle grenades, it uses the projectiles of 23x152mmB autocannon rounds. As in the case of many other rifle grenades, in order to shoot it, one must load a blank cartridge into the rifle, load the grenade (the 23mm projectile) from the muzzle and shoot the gun. Let’s watch that video then discuss some design aspects of this launcher:
10 Reasons Why Vz. 58 is NOT an AK
No, Vz. 58 is not an AK version. The recently released video by Kalashnikov Media was just a good additional source to start talking about this topic. The point of this article is to show that these are different rifles. Which one is a superior design? It is an arguable matter. Both have advantages and shortcomings.
