If you’re a long-range precision shooter and not yet familiar with this anti-cant device, you should take a serious look. I bought mine a few years ago and it works very well helping me level my rifle for each shot. If you’re using a Spuhr mount, they have a special version that attaches directly to the mount instead of your Picatinny rail.

Recently I was asked to crank out yet another ”best guns for women” article. I cringe every time I see that sort of title, because the truth is, guns don’t care what sex you are. In more than eight years of instructing and 15 years of daily carry, I’ve learned (and it’s confirmed by US military research) that there is little predictability between gender and the dimensions of hands or fingers. Four of my female students prefer the largest of the modular backstraps on their pistols. Two male students have fingers so short that they struggle to reach the trigger on a sub-compact Glock 43. After the new Specialist Long Range Precision Rifle Bag from Savior Equipment was released this spring I got the opportunity to try it out. I’ve now had it for about three months and it’s time to look at how it performs.

I admit it, I’m a big fan of Triggertech triggers. Over the last few weeks, the TFB crew has discussed a number of times what their End of the World gun would be if they had to just pick one. I was rather torn since I typically carry a 10.5 AR pistol in my truck on a daily basis. The more I thought about it, there’s no way I would be stuck with a really short 5.56 barrel on my end of the world gun. Pete started this series and encouraged everyone to write their perfect gun and for the most part, I agree with Pete’s choices. The main difference between Pete’s choice and mine is the fact I live in the rather flat areas of Michigan.

While “Buying Holsters for Dummies” isn’t a book yet, it should be. The holster is the everlasting companion of the handgun. Many of you no doubt have probably purchased a handgun fairly recently and with good reason. In these uncertain times, it is paramount that we are ready and able to defend ourselves and our loved ones from all threats both at home and out in the world. Handguns are a great defensive tool to have on hand when they’re needed but selecting the right gear for the job can be just as important.
