Bear Creek Arsenal is getting into the 8.6 Blackout game with new pistols. These large-frame guns have short barrels to accommodate suppressor use. The barrel is not the only short feature, the twist rate is exceptionally short at 1:3.

Bear Creek @ TFB:

8.6 Blackout is the ballistic big brother of the .300 Blackout. Instead of taking a .223 case and necking it up to .30 caliber, the 8.6 takes a 6.5 Creedmoor case and necks it up to take a .338 bullet. That larger bullet diameter means heavier bullets in both supersonic and subsonic loadings than the .300 Blackout can muster.

Bear Creek has three pistol models with barrel length options of 7.5 inches, 10.5 inches, and 12.5 inches. The muzzles are threaded M18x1.5. All three use side charging uppers. All three pistols retail for $995. In addition to the pistols, Bear Creek also sells rifles in 8.6 Blackout with 16-inch barrels and complete uppers in both rifle and pistol lengths.

From the manufacturer:

“Bear Creek Arsenal, a leader in affordable, high-quality firearms and parts, is excited to announce the launch of new lengths in its 8.6 Blackout uppers and the introduction of all-new AR10 pistols. The 8.6 Blackout, known for its impressive subsonic power and accuracy, is based on a shortened and necked-up 6.5 Creedmoor case. This round offers up to twice the reach, double the energy, and triple the lethality of its predecessor, the .300 Blackout. The new 8.6 Blackout uppers will be available in 16”, 12.5”, 10.5”, and 7.5” and featuring parkerized SOCOM barrels with a 1:3 twist rate for optimal performance. These uppers are designed for easy integration with AR-10 platforms, providing users with a versatile and powerful option for hunting, home defense, and range shooting.”
