B5 Systems Expands Their Retro Line For the CAR-15

If you’ve thought of building a retro “Gordy” or “Blood Diamond” rifle in the past, raise your hand. I’m right there with you. As if a sign from above that it’s truly meant to be, B5 Systems recently expanded on their retro line of furniture for the CAR15. Let’s face it, I didn’t need a sign. This is an itch that isn’t going away until I finally scratch it, and B5 Systems is stepping up to make it easier to accomplish without sacrificing the quality of materials and exacting standards we’ve come to know from them.

CAR15 Handguards

The CAR15 handguard is a true drop-in replacement for a retro minimalist rifle. It is lightweight with a slim profile and original 6-hole design, paying homage with accurate detail while taking advantage of advanced manufacturing and mil-spec materials available today. The B5 Systems CAR15 handguard incorporates an aluminum heatshield, thus demonstrating that it’s not all about looks. But who are we kidding? Looks are important. MSRP is set at $25.

CAR15 LS2 Grip

With original LS2 Grips becoming popular and more difficult to come by, naturally, they have become relatively expensive, selling for upwards of $100 when you can find them. For the uninitiated, the LS2 is similar to an A2 grip but more ergonomic if you have larger mits, as the arched backstrap and overall larger profile do a better job filling the hand. The CAR15 LS2 grip also features a hinged storage compartment. Similar to the handguards, the B5 Systems CAR15 LS2 Grip comes in at an affordable $20 MSRP.

CAR15 Stock

The B5 Systems CAR15 stock preceded the handguards and grip in the retro lineup. As with the original, it is equipped with multiple fixed sling points, a knurled anti-slip butt plate, and fits all mil-spec buffer tube extensions. Keeping with the affordability of the B5 Systems Retro line, the CAR15 stock is available for an MSRP of $50.

Press Release from B5 Systems:

B5 Systems CAR15 components seem to be the perfect combination for a retro clone build or a lightweight carbine. All of them are available in either black or OD Green and none of them will break the bank. All are made from durable polymer materials right here in the US. The authenticity is already making me feel nostalgic.

Do you have aspirations for a retro, clone, or lightweight carbine build like I do? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
