POTD: NNSBA ECOAims Laser Biathlon Rifle
The reinvigoration of Navy Sport has seen the development of a dedicated central funding line which supports sport from grassroots up to representative level. In addition it is complemented by the RAN Central Canteen Funds. All recognised Navy sports have benefited from the financial support, including the Navy Nordic Skiing and Biathlon Association (NNSBA). The NNSBA team were successful in their funding request for four ECOAims laser biathlon rifles, that allow training year-round.

I’m left with one question: How does the laser work if it starts to snow during an Olympic Biathlon?

The Paralympics uses a similar laser rifle for blind biathlon competition.
Biathlon with Real Rifles makes people culturally accustomed to firearms, and hence directly causes and helps pro-firearms views, firearms ownership and in the long term, pro-gun policies.
We see this every year a Czech Biathlonists score on the olympics.
To any antigunner, Biathlon with actual firearms equals "pro gun propaganda".
Whereas "laser rifles", after just a few more salami slices, will not resemble firearms at all, and hence will not promote those Evil Guns - and conversely would culturally help disarmament.
