Wheelgun Wednesday: 3-War Colt 1917
Welcome to another Wheelgun Wednesday, where I swear it’s purely a coincidence that I selected a 1917 this week! This week’s revolver is a Colt 1917, as opposed to the previously featured S&W. It has the added distinction of not only being carried in combat in WW1 (Cue Sabaton’s new album Great War) but also at the tail end of the Korean War and was in Southeast Asia for a decade during the United State’s involvement in Vietnam. (“One war, one police action and one undeclared conflict” didn’t sound as good for the title).
C&R Arsenal Plays with The M9's Great Great Great… Granddaddy
There must be something Italian in the waters. Berettas seem to be popping up all over the place, this time the progenitors of the US M9 Service Pistol. C&Rsenal (a clever name for a Curio & Relic YouTube channel) has their hands on two rare service pistols from a century prior to today, the Beretta Models 1915 and 1917.
The Littlest Browning 1917 Gun Crew
Handheld fully automatic weapons require skill and strength to use effectively. Although a skilled and strong shooter can control even legendarily “uncontrollable” weapons like the AR-10 safely, many less-experienced smaller shooters, such as kids, have trouble safely controlling even “controllable” weapons like submachine guns. Unfortunately, this combination can sometimes have disastrous results.
