POTD: Detonics BLACK ONE 500 Single-Shot Percussion Pistol
Detonics is a Czech company specializing in designing firearms that are easier to acquire in the Czech Republic and other European countries. For that reason, many of their guns are muzzleloaders despite their modern appearance. What we have for today’s Photo Of The Day, is a Detonics 50 cal single-shot smoothbore percussion pistol called Black One 500.

The polymer frame of the Detonics Black One 500 pistol features top and bottom Picatinny rails. The hammer has a safety notch as well as a position where it can be locked for safe transportation. The pistol weighs 22.4 oz (635 grams) has a 6.7” barrel (170mm) and has the following dimensions: 9.45”x1.02”x6.1” (240x26x155mm). The Detonics Black One 500 can be purchased in the Czech Republic without a license and is pretty affordable with an MSRP of €179.

My first thought was that this can be easily converted into a centerfire pistol by inserting a rifled barrel sleeve.
Very, very cool.
Hopefully, someone will bring it to the States.
