Nosler has just introduced a new line of hunting ammunition called Whitetail Country. Tailored for deer hunting, this ammunition family is loaded with expanding bullets of two types - Solid Base and Straight-Wall. The former is a boat tail bullet loaded into bottleneck cartridges and the latter is a flat base bullet offered in straight-wall cartridges.

Nosler @ TFB:

Below you can find the manufacturer’s descriptions of the new Whitetail Country Solid Base and Straight-Wall ammunition as well as the lists of currently available loads.

Nosler Whitetail Country Solid Base

“Solid Base® bullet, renowned for its precision and terminal performance, incorporates a fifth-generation tapered jacket and a heavy solid base to deliver deep penetration and optimal expansion for quick, efficient kills. Its boat-tail design and aerodynamic profile ensure superior accuracy and wind resistance, making it the ideal choice for deer hunters looking for exceptional performance.”

Available loads:

  • 6.5 Creedmoor 140gr SB
  • .270 Winchester 130gr SB
  • 7mm-08 Remington 140gr SB
  • .30-30 Winchester 150gr SB
  • .30-06 Springfield 165gr SB

Nosler Whitetail Country Straight-Wall

“Straight-Wall™ bullet is tailored for the slower impact velocities typical of straight-wall cartridges. It boasts a flat base, a thin jacket at the tip, and a lead nose to ensure reliable expansion, even at extended ranges. The truncated nose design allows for smooth feeding across various action types, while the form-fitted lead core enhances stability and accuracy. This cutting-edge design mirrors the stopping power of standard bottleneck rifle cartridges while being fully compliant with straight-wall cartridge regulations.”

Available loads:

  • 350 Legend 180gr SW
  • 45-70 Government 300gr SW

The MSRPs of Nosler Whitetail Country ammunition start from $34.95 for 20-round boxes.

I think most hunters have already found a cartridge that works best in their rifle and they aren't going to buy new products to test but if you're new to hunting or just bought a new deer rifle it might be worth buying a box to see how it shoots but downrange performance isn't going to be known until it has track record. Personally I'm sticking to my all copper choice with a proven bullet design and it shoots very well out of my rifle.

I would try it to see how it groups, especially if it's on the shelf price is budget friendly.
