Skunkwerks, the special projects division of Gunwerks, has designed another interesting limited-edition rifle called The Accountant. This is an integrally suppressed takedown bolt action rifle that can be stored in a compact briefcase. Let’s take a closer look at the Gunwerks The Accountant rifle system.

Gunwerks at TFB:

Gunwerks The Accountant rifle is chambered in .308 Winchester and is fed from detachable box magazines. The 416R stainless steel barrel is one-piece machined with the suppressor baffles. The overall length of the barrel is 17.5” from which the actual barrel is 11.5” and the baffle section is six inches. The barrel is completely covered by the titanium integral suppressor tube. The noise reduction level is advertised to be 140 dB.

The Accountant rifle is built with a JTAC Industries chassis that has a collapsible stock. The choice of the collapsing stock over a folding one is made to be able to store the rifle in only a three-inch deep case. The other dimensions of the case are 17.5" x 12.75" and the overall cased package weighs in at 9.5 lbs.

The price of the Gunwerks The Accountant Rifle System is $13,500. The reason why Gunwerks calls this and their other products “rifle system” is because you get not just the rifle but an entire package which in the case of The Accountant includes the Leupold Mark 5HD 2-10x30mm scope installed in LaRue detachable rings, 100 rounds of .308 Win Federal Custom Shop ammunition specifically developed for this rifle (loaded with 175-grain Terminal Ascent bullets) and the custom fit leather briefcase. The rifle also comes with two five-round magazines. It is also possible to order this rifle in a left-hand configuration.
