The Civilian Marksmanship Program is auctioning off an actual, complete XM-3 sniper rifle. This is a rare opportunity to own an actual US military sniper rifle with documented combat use. It even includes the original deployment case and Nightforce scope.

CMP @ TFB:

An original data book comes with the rifle, and documents 763 rounds fired, as well as the rifle being in Iraq in late 2007 and early 2008. The only original part not included is the suppressor, which CMP notes was not included when they took possession of this rifle. Now for the bad part: With 6 days left in the auction as of writing, the current bid was already $16,000. The auction ends on July 6th, if so you have deep pockets and want to pick up a nice 4th of July present, the XM-3 could be an option!

Mil reticle and moa turrets? Something about that doesn't make sense.

It doesn't but mil reticles and MOA turrets used to be the de facto standard for scopes in the US military.
