It was just announced a few weeks ago that Federal Premium had debuted a new Copper Plated 1 Buck Home Defense/Field load of shotgun shells providing the dual purpose of being able to hunt game as well as defend. Now, Federal Premium is once again announced another selection with Power-Shok 1 Buck providing that same type of versatility.

Federal Ammunition @ TFB:

This new Power-Shok 1 Buck sports 16 pellets of #1 buck in an offering of a 12 Gauge 2 ¾” magnum load. It’s cooking out of your barrel at 1,325 FPS (feet per second) while touting their Triple Plus wad system for better shot alignment. You also get several patented features from Federal like their Granulated plastic buffer keeping pellets uniform in shape, tight downrange patterns, their quality lead pellets and 5-round boxes have an MSRP of $9.99.

Anoka, Minnesota – October 30th, 2023 – Federal Ammunition adds size No. 1 to its popular Power-Shok buckshot product line. Hunters will now have a great option for hogs, predators and more with the new Power-Shok No. 1 buck offering. The load provides the patterns and terminal performance needed, thanks to the Triple Plus wad system, quality lead pellets and granulated plastic buffer that minimizes shot deformation.

“No. 1 Buck has really grown in popularity over the past several years and we wanted to deliver on what hunters and shooters are looking for,” said Federal Shotshell Product Director Dan Compton. “These new loads produce good patterns with lots of pellets on target.”

This might be a simple in-line addition to a legacy line-up like Power-Shok, but I am always pleased to ammunition companies – especially Federal Premium – giving us more offerings and choices to pick from. As always, let us know all of your thoughts about Federal Premium in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
