Rifle Dynamics Limited Edition Thunder Ranch RD700 AK Pistol

Back in 2020, Rifle Dynamics and Thunder Ranch introduced the Thunder Ranch AK, a rifle made to Clint Smith’s specifications. The two companies have teamed up again to release another AK, the limited edition Thunder Ranch RD700 pistol. This AK pistol bears the Thunder Ranch logo and has an exclusive Tigerstripe finish.

Rifle Dynamics Thunder Ranch RD700 pistol is chambered in 7.62x39mm and has a 12.5″ barrel which is threaded with the 1/2×28 thread pitch and populated with the Rifle Dynamics tunable front sight/gas block. The pistol can be ordered with one of the following muzzle devices installed: Forward Controls 6315KM KeyMo flash hider, HUXWRX QD flash hider, Dead Air KeyMo flash hider or muzzle brake, and SilencerCo ASR flash hider or muzzle brake. The Thunder Ranch RD700 also comes with an RD V2 rear sight and RD custom SLR Rifleworks 9″ M-LOK aluminum handguard.

The receiver of the Thunder Ranch RD700 pistol is fitted with a Picatinny rail rear trunnion and the pistol can be ordered with an SB Tactical SBA3 brace mounted on a Midwest Industries folding buffer tube or a Gear Head Works Tailhook brace with a MI folding strut. The pistol grip options include a TangoDown BG-AK, Magpul MOE or Magpul K2 AK grips. The Thunder Ranch RD700 pistol also features a tuned RD LBE Unlimited G3 AK Trigger. The pistol comes with a standard safety lever, however, for an additional cost, it can be equipped with a Krebs Custom enhanced safety or a lever with Rifle Dynamics safety stud. The overall length of the Rifle Dynamics Thunder Ranch RD700 pistol with an SBA3 brace fully collapsed and extended is 28.75″ and 31.5″ respectively. The length with a folded brace is 21.5″. The overall weight is 7lbs 5oz.

The price of the Rifle Dynamics Thunder Ranch RD700 limited edition AK pistol is $3,250. The pistol ships with one 30-round magazine and in a black RD soft case. The current estimated lead time is 4-6 weeks. This pistol can not be shipped to CA, MA, NJ, or CT.

Another joint project announced by the two companies is the Rifle Dynamics Thunder Ranch Build Class scheduled for February 11-12, 2023, where the students will build a Rifle Dynamics Thunder Ranch Edition RD700 series rifle.
